Our annual Home Coming game is this Friday at 7:00 at Eastern High School, East Capital Street, on Capital Hill. This will be your best opportunity to show your support for the Team and the School.
The Knights improved to 6-1, (35-28) after edging Poly Prep in New York on Saturday. It proved to be a long road trip. However, receiver Antonio Huff caught two touchdowns passes and running back Albert Reid rushed for 268 yards. Mr. Ried was named to the All-Met First Team this week.
Eddie Goldman made three tackles and notched one sack before leaving the game midway through the second quarter with an ankle sprain. On Sunday, Mr. Goldman said that he was fine and expects to play this week.
We remain behind Good Counsel at No. 2 in the D.C. rankings. Good Counsel stays solidly in the Top 25 for the Nation. We moved up one spot to 13 in the Metro Top 20. We dropped to number 14 from number six the previous week following our only loss of the year to Bergen Catholic, N.J., (a national top 50 team.) Perhaps a game against one of the Top 5, Metro “favorites” would be good for the schedule next year.
The D.C. Leader Board is printed below. Yes, of the Top 3, we are the only school that is actually in D.C. I gave up on that issue long ago and prefer to spark a rivalry with the excellent programs at Good Counsel and Dematha , in the true spirit of Friendship. (I hope they hear my friendly rhetoric.)
Hope to see you Friday night. Be sure to support the team by letting me know if you need a hat or polo shirt for the game. Free delivery!
