“History was made in Washington, D.C. high school sports last week as 14 seniors from Friendship Collegiate Academy School came together at a National Football Signing Ceremony on Feb. 2 to announce the schools they will be attending next fall.
It marked the most seniors from one school to receive full scholarships to study and perform at major universities across the country, including schools with premier football programs like Ohio State University and University of Pittsburgh.
Friendship’s historical senior class includes Lorenzo Fisher, Ohio State University; Malcolm Crockett, University of Pittsburgh; Jordan Kittrell, Central Connecticut State; Marcellus Riley, Glenville State; Richard Sloan, Glenville State; Donavan Wallace, Cheyney; Darrian Cleckley, Glenville State; Denzel Stanbak, Morgan State; Saed Mack, Glenville State; Charles Bailey, undecided (Glenville State and NC Central offers); Percee Goings King, Columbia University; Deandre Price, Central Connecticut State; Marquise Anderson, Bowie State; Marquise Walton, undecided (Glenville State and Marist offers).
All students used the D.C. College Access Program (DC-CAP) as a platform to gain their scholarships. DC-CAP is a privately funded, not-for-profit organization that encourages and enables D.C. public high school students to enroll and graduate from college.”
