ESPNU to Showcase Top 2012 College Football Recruit Eddie Goldman at Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown

Friendship Collegiate Academy Football Team will begin their 2011 season at the highly anticipated Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown in Cincinnati, Ohio. This prestigious nationally televised event began in 1998 and showcases the top high school football teams in the country. On August 28th, at 11:00 EST, the “Showdown” will feature Friendship, with ESPN number 1 high school defensive tackle Eddie Goldman, against Taft Information Technology High School.

Goldman is also rated the number 2 overall pick in the country by ESPN. Presently, he is considering Auburn, Florida State, the University of Florida, the University of Georgia, and the University of Alabama but remains undecided. Head coach Azaar Abdul-Rahim says Eddie is “a great athlete for a player his size and he has a rare blend of size, speed and explosiveness.”

Goldman is an excellent student who currently has a 3.1 GPA and plans to major in business. “Off the field...” continues Abdul-Rahim, “...he doesn't worry about the recruiting, the notoriety and the whole process.” Eddie is definitely not alone in his achievements. Several other Friendship players have scholarship offers from Division I schools.

Friendship Collegiate Academy is one of the top academic schools in the District of Columbia, with a 100% college acceptance rate and the highest number of Advance College Placement students in the City. Last year graduates received over $10 million in scholarships, with 2 Gates Millennium scholars.
