Friendship avenged its loss to rival H.D. Woodson last Friday with a spectacular win before a "home field" crowd at Eastern High School. See Friendship Beats H.D. Woodson 26-6
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/video/2010/09/04/VI2010090400296.html?referrer=emaillink. Woodson beat Friendship last year in a heart stopping overtime game that was described by the Washington Post as “the real Turkey Bowel”(D.C. Championship).
H.D. Woodson isn't the same team they were the past few seasons with Ricardo Young under center. Ricardo is off to Virginia Tech after being named the D.C. Player. Woodson won the DCIAA, although Friendship (as a Public Charter School) was not permitted to compete.
Friendship is still on the rise. Friendship’s offense features its running back sensation, Malcolm Crockett and a solid defense. The Knights began their season against an outclassed Virginia Lions 63-0. Last year, Collegiate beat Dunbar, Gonzaga, Riverdale Baptist and Ireton. Friendship seeks recognition that they are the best public high school football program in the District.
The Knights will face Dematha (Hyattsville, MD), one of the best teams in the region at 7:00 at Eastern High, on East Capital Street, S.E.
