It’s a win!!!!
Coming from The Blow Pierce Campus of Friendship PCS, the girls’ softball team took home a victory, defeating Sidwell Friends School 10 – 8 last week. Though the team consist majority of 8th graders, our underclassmen played a major role in the win. Al’kia Jackson (5th grader) scored the first run by stealing home, along with Kela Stancil (5th grader). Out catcher Keiche’ White (6th grader) never allowed a Sidwell Friends player to steal home. She caught every ball that came her way. Newcomers Ka’Niya Wipple (8th grader) got us hitting with a single that brought in fellow teammates Jacqueline Mattis(8th) and Nequan McMillan (8th). Sealing the victory came when our first base person Iyanna Bush(8th) hit a triple with the bases loaded, allowing 3 runs to come home, feeling great stepping on home plate!
The girls’ softball team finished the season with a 4-3 victory over Georgetown Day at Blow Pierce field on yesterday, in which Kayla Connor pitched one of her best games of the year.
