Over the years, there have been a handful of Friendship Collegiate Athletes form multiple sports that were given consideration for the Washington Post All-Met Team, eventually earning Honorable Mention status. For the first time, a Friendship student has been voted FIRST TEAM ALL-MET by the Washington Post.
Brandon Young, is going to the Washington Post headquarters for pictures and interviews. It is the first time in the 30+ years of All-Met teams that a student from a charter school has received this honor. The All-Met publication will be printed within the week.
Secondly, Brandon has also been selected to play in the Capital Classic. The Capital Classic is one of the 3 major National HS All-Star games. It is the cream of the crop from DC versus a team composed of national HS stars. Alumni of this annual event include:
James Worthy, Dominique Wilkins, Ralph Sampson, Chris Paul, Moses Malone, Jason Kidd, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Lebron James, Dwight Howard, Grant Hill, Carmelo Anthony, and on and on and on and on! Now one of our own students from Friendship Collegiate Academy will forever be an alum of this prestigious group!
The game is on April 15 at American University.
Congratulations to Brandon and Couch Crouch. Also, a very special thanks to the Couch for this information.
